    Interesting. There’s a great variety of sexual possibilities explored in Ulysses, but it really doesn’t get into gay sex. Even so, Cadmus here is using it as a symbol explicitly of the possibility of gay sex.

    It’s not that reading Ulysses makes you beautiful, it’s that displaying Ulysses shows you’re available.
