UD Spent this Beautiful Saturday…

…contemplating koi at the
Japanese Koi Pond at the
Catoctin Animal Park —
just a hop skip and a jump
from Camp David.

UD thanks her sister
for the photo.

have you ever taken a shot at bonsai? you should.

Yeah, yeah, rub it in, whydoncha.

    Your cornfield-bound reader.

  3. Margaret Soltan Says:

Oh, we saw beautiful cornfields on our way out there, too, francofou — looked like young corn, but what do I know…

And – to make you maybe feel a bit better – Mr UD was totally unimpressed with the place. “We live very close to the National Zoo — a world-class zoo… Why are we wandering around this little park?”

The koi pond was built so that the fish are not far from eye-level. And they’re inches away – as you feed them they’re really right in your face… with all their glistening colors… The effect, for me, was almost hallucinogenic. In fact, I said to my sister: “We should have dropped some acid before coming here.”

cloudminder: My mother was very big (small?) on bonsai – I think I’d enjoy it too…
