Like Vice President Cheney in the aftermath of 9/11, Joe Paterno’s statue is being escorted to a secure location.
I have decided that it is in the best interest of our university and public safety to remove the statue and store it in a secure location.
Gotta be secure because Penn State risks a breakaway group of partisans stealing it and reestablishing the cult.

Just chop it up and melt it down. Problem solved.

The only one connected to Penn St. that I feel the lest bit sympathetic for is the sculptor. It can’t be fun thinking about your creation and its destiny when you did nothing but accept a commission.

Burial at sea, perhaps?

I just read that the statue entitled “Civic Duty”, with its sexist representation of male duty overcoming female vice, has been moved to a cemetery in Brooklyn. Perhaps there is room in the same cemetery for these football statues.

@janet: I grew up in Queens, and I remember that awful statue in front of Boro Hall. Across the street from the pretty-good deli where all the local politicians got their pastrami sandwiches.
