He’s got a point. Sports/money types exploiting black athletes.

    sure but hard to imagine a messenger less likely to have a constructive impact down there in terms of the institution

    dmf: I agree. Sharpton’s far from the ideal messenger. But he’s the first person to say something appropriately strong about the exploitation.

    Actually, CAL sociologist Harry Edwards has long done research and written about exploitation of black athletes. Haven’t heard from him recently, but it would be interesting to get his take on what’s currently taking place….
