Margaret’s Nature Journal

Wow. Something I’ve never seen before.

On a cold but extremely sunny day, a fox is currently sitting in complete relaxation (eyes vaguely scanning the birds at my feeder), steps from my deck. Like this. Just sunning itself, half asleep.

Yesterday morning, the dog started barking furiously, so I thought I’d better see what was going on. A large fox was strolling across the walkway, not 10 feet from the door.

The NYT has an article today on snipers taking out foxes in London.

We have foxes in suburban Miami, but apparently they were brought in for fox hunts in the 30s. Fox hunts!

Anonymous: I’ll have to find that NYT article – thanks for letting me know. UD
