Well, I run into students where I teach that believe in the second amendment, but believe the federal government censors the news and when I mention the first amendment, they say things like that doesn’t work anymore.
Van, do you mean they think the First amendment *doesn’t* work because it’s being ignored (which is an implication that could be drawn from their belief that “the federal government censors the news,” or that the believe it is obsolete and “shouldn’t* work?
No, they think it doesn’t work, that somehow the federal government actually does censor, at very least, the network news. They also believe that if the government doesn’t like your internet posts they will take them down.

No, they think it doesn’t work, that somehow the federal government actually does censor, at very least, the network news. They also believe that if the government doesn’t like your internet posts they will take them down.
