This seems the product of some mind of extreme winter. Frosty, reduced to nothing, both the one that is not there and the one that is. Poor kids, particularly the little girls, but all of them really.
Speaking of repression and reactions: get a load of this. If not a hoax, it is one of the most interesting stories I’ve seen in a while. A year or so ago I told my wife that our world has come to resemble a Batman comic. The most interesting thing in the story to me is the reference to protecting our democracies:
