You have to wonder if this isn’t the mechanism for the collapse of many other public unis, not just HBCUs. Many directional institutions are also facing massive deficits and falling enrollment. Here in Oregon, it was only last minute intervention by our two Senators that kept Southern and Eastern Oregon unis open, but in the case of Eastern, they had to close several academic departments. The rot is going tot get far worse….
