Jalen Rose, on an ESPN podcast, said that such “bachelorette parties” are vital to the recruiting process. “As a 17-year-old, if I’m not getting (serviced), I’m not coming,” he said, pointing out that he visited UNLV, Syracuse and Michigan and “you know where I went (Michigan).”

    Yeah. It’s not just Louisville, and they certainly didn’t invent it – one might argue that their distinction is the literary inclination of their “support staff.”

    Been going on for years. A decade ago, it was CU-Boulder busted using sex for recruitment. Then-coach Gary Barnett got a slap on the wrist and an eventual $3 million dollar buyout of his contract. Not fired for the scandal, mind you, but for a couple of big end-of-season losses a year later. He then founded a pinche little charitable foundation that bears his name and doesn’t seem to do much of anything.

    Not to give too much away, but according to Deadspin, this sort of thing has been going since the early 60’s. That icon of college football, Bear Bryant, instituted some kind of Bear Babes program for his footballers….
