    I’ve never seen one with an appetite for pumpkins.

    tp: Thinking this must be pretty rare, I googled deer eat pumpkin and got several hits and images. I think the bottom line on deer is that they’ll eat anything at all if they’re feeling particularly hungry. It was pretty amazing to watch this big guy tear the thing to shreds.

    Just about every animal likes to eat pumpkins. They are a big hit at zoos — check out all the youtube videos. I don’t know if it is the smell, the sugars, the vitamin A, or what. Deer are much less surprising than tigers! Our cat goes nuts every year as soon as we bring them home.

    Anon: All I knew was that our squirrels loved pumpkins. Had no idea they were universally popular…
