Boys, Baseball, Blasters:

It don’t get no more American than that.

Rand Paul, who was on the field during what “would have been a massacre,” will be UD‘s colleague next semester; he will “teach DC college students about dystopias.”

First Lesson Plan: Imagine a place where you can’t go outside to play ball because nothing stops nuts from getting semi-automatic rifles.

Discuss.

Hard to keep up.

Australia banned semiautomatic weapons [in 1996], and required everyone to sell those they already owned to the government. There have been no mass shootings in the country since then.

I like Ron Paul going on about the Federal Reserve, and Rand fuming about killings by drone, and all that. I vote Libertarian, and sort of think libertarian as a default position.

But both Drs. Paul are just plain wrong about national health care. National health is how advanced countries do health care business. Plus, unless my guess is wrong, both Drs. Paul have derived most of their practice income from schemes, such as group health insurance, that give people of widely varying incomes medical purchasing parity.

This morning at 10 am I was scheduled to cover a House GOP-led hearing on deregulating gun silencers. Another day in America
