Curtains for Durkin.

Now, as Mr UD says, it’s time for the board of regents to go.

***************

Deadspin:

It’s obviously the right move, but Maryland deserves exactly zero credit for making it. They did everything they could to avoid moving on from Durkin—a lousy, losing coach whose players and former assistants describe as a bully and a tyrant—and are only doing it now because they’ve had their asses kicked non-stop since yesterday afternoon.

One Response to “Curtains for Durkin.”

  1. charlie Says:

What has to be far more concerning to Athletic Departments is that players effectively told the school to drop dead. It’s real simple, if hired hands walk off the farm, the crops rot. And Maryland players weren’t going to do their underpaid jobs anymore.

If any of you have listened to college athletes, you’d realize that, unlike the PR campaign, players realize P5 football programs are the NFL’s minor leagues. The unis comprising those five conferences have made massive investments in plant and personnel, but it means nothing if players decide to sit it out. That’s why Durkin, imo, was let go. What’s astonishing is that admins hadn’t gauged what players were thinking prior to Durkin’s return. Another example of uni’s best and brightest..
