From an Opinion Piece in Today's New York Times The academy responds to the demands of disciplines and faculty. It is a culture that cherishes independence and freedom. And it is a culture seriously out of touch with much of America. Out of touch with much of America? What could be more American than comic books? The academy's problem is that it's way too much in touch with America. |
