Reminds me of the time I was teaching chemistry at the College (now University) of St. Catherine a women’s college…
I congratulated the students on being eager beavers. This required me to disappear behind the lectern until things settled down. I also used the word hooker inappropriately, once, with the same result.
On the other hand, long ago I had to explain to a friend, who was a Wellesley grad, what the beaver business was all about and why you might want to be careful using the word while teaching.
Glorious day after 4th here in Minnesota. After a long week in TX with the temperatures in the 105 degree range, it is nice to be home.
