What ails Oklahoma?

First they fail to sell out Boone Pickens Stadium. Now some guy from Bethany (I checked. It’s definitely in Oklahoma.) writes a letter to the editor:

The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents voted to give OU football coach Bob Stoops a $4 million to $5 million salary per year. No coach is worth that kind of money …!

What in tarnation’s going on??

  1. francofou Says:

Maybe he will use the money to buy enough tickets to sell out the stadium; that alone would justify a substantial raise. Things are done a little differently in Tarnation, especially in Southern Tarnation.

  2. Brett Says:

Differently indeed, francofou, but not so differently that University of Oklahoma Sooners Head Football Coach Bob Stoops is likely to buy tickets to sell out at Boone Pickens Stadium, home of the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.

Despite the kinds of similarities UD routinely and accurately notes, they are not the same school.
