    The journey of Heim and Gansser across Tibet produced still-useful information for geologists interested in the Himalaya and Tibetan plateau.

    Gansser contributed to a very good book on the geology, and culture of the Himalaya. Very readable for non-geolgists.

    He dug for oil, advised the sheikhs.
    He made the mould, he won the gold,

    A story worthy of the Greeks.
