    Finding the original paper took some time because—hilariously—a whole bunch of news stories about plagiarism uncovered by matching typos all had a matching typo in the title of what they claimed to be the original paper.

    Here are links to English-language abstracts (tap on 초록2 or 초록) of the original paper by Baig Soo Kim and the alleged plagiarism.

    I don’t understand the point of the whole degree/thesis thing, even if it weren’t plagiarized.

    What is the benefit of an advanced university degree to an athlete-politician? What is the chance that someone with little or no experience in science or statistics, doing research only to qualify for a credential, will design a good study or produce a useful result?
