Good point. The national ethos is pioneer/wild west/everyone for himself with guns to purtekt the fambly from the gurvmint while saluting the flag and country right or wrong at every opportunity. Also wearing team apparel expecting that the coach will pull one in through the screen to save the big game.
All that baggage will only fit in a split-level head and we’re seeing that there are a lot of those out there. Unfortunately the medicaments can be worse than the disease.
No illusions that the gun situation will change let alone stay changed though.
