The Problem with Nihilism.

“It is amazing how many of [Trumpists’] hopes and dreams did center on Hunter Biden’s addiction, Hunter Biden’s sex life, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and interesting for a political party that has based so much on ‘nothing matters’ to discover to their disappointment that nothing matters,” said Charlie Sykes, author of How the Right Lost Its Mind.

“Haven’t they sort of established a small universe where nothing matters? You can pay off a porn star and it doesn’t make a difference. Did they really think that somehow Hunter Biden was going to make a difference?”

One Response to “The Problem with Nihilism.”

  1. Greg Says:

    Yep to all.

The real hard right never lost whatever mind it had. It just learned to use new media and a charismatic* stuffed-leader figure to organize and weaponize greed, ignorance, prejudice and sadism on a completely new scale. When it achieved what it thought sufficient support, it stopped hiding in its quasi-human costumes. In fact there may be one more faux fig leaf left to drop. I believe – though I’m not certain – that many of these people would help effect a return to literal** plantation slavery were they certain that they could get away with it.

*Beats the hell out of me too?

** Literal, literal. In a few years one will have to say literal, literal, literal.
