A big advantage of being at a small, church-affiliated, traditional, liberal arts university is that I don’t have to play the publishing game. I have total freedom to research and write about whatever I want. So there’s no incentive to cheat.
I’m emphasizing the plus side of my situation. The downside is a whole lot less pay. And for some, living in Abilene, although that’s a plus for me.
