Actually, given the cast of characters, this story more brings to mind the George Bernard Shaw anecdote (http://www.anecdotage.com/index.php?aid=11508) in which CFU is at the £5 end of the scale.
I would add my voice to the others–he’s not refusing to be a corporate whore; he wants to be a whore for a different corporation.
On second thought, this is perhaps a little too harsh. At present, he’s being pimped out by his athletic program, which gives him no share of the proceeds of his whoring. We might reasonably ask why the person who has the hard part of the job gets no share of the whoring-derived revenue.

Yeah…I mean, I guess Marcus is staying true to his father’s corporate whoredom. I suppose inheritance takes the stain off it?

Exactly. Tis pity he’s a whore, but he comes by it honestly.

Most of us are whores for something. But at least we get to choose.
