Somewhere I read that a Math professor at Williams was one of 3 finalists for college professor of the year. The other two were Roger Rosenblatt of SUNY-Stony Brook (he was former News Hour essayist) and a History professor from U of Arkansas.

If only Williams and all of higher education put a dollar value on the amount that separates serious misuse from trivial misuse. The Chronicle could publish its fascinating annual ‘chump change’ survey, and my department might buy coffee and donuts.
