  1. francofou Says:

Before women had the right to vote, did tennis balls come in cans? did apples have little stickers on them? did people walk around with plastic water bottles? Could a girl from a little mining town in the West find happiness as the wife of a wealthy and titled Englishman?
No, I tell you, no! Watch out, Saudis.

  2. Margaret Soltan Says:

Calm down, francofou. They only get to vote in local elections. Plus the Saudis will change their minds in a day or two.

  3. Polish Peter Says:

How will they get to the polls if they can’t drive?

  4. Margaret Soltan Says:

Polish Peter: Reminds me of my favorite bumper sticker during the Gulf War: SUPPORT SAUDI ARABIA. KEEP WOMEN OFF THE ROAD.

  5. francofou Says:

Right, local elections in a few years, then regional elections by the end of the century. We know how these things go. It’s the sandball effect.
