I fail to see the relevance of establishing a link between this man and his employer. I employ post-docs — would I be held responsible if one of them proved to be a sexual pervert in his free time?

DM: The issue here is how well a university deals with an emergency of this sort. MIT (unlike a lot of schools) dealt with it very well.
