Well, at least Massachusetts taxpayers are also paying for a new law school the state doesn’t need. That’s some consolation.

    One of the comments on the Boston Globe article re: UM football was that higher profile football teams attract more students.

    As a former high school teacher, I can say this with some authority. If a student, and his/her family, factors in the quality of the college football team in their decision to attend that college, that student is not smart enough to go to college. No stupider reason exists for college attendance, other than the one I heard from several former students, that being, the number of bars within walking distance of the campus…
