Assuming these mass shooters are mentally ill is problematic, in most cases I think they are just sociopaths, and the DSM 5 doesn’t include anti-social personality. Here’s a good article explaining why the “mentally ill” label is problematic.

Yes, but please remember the phrase mentally ill only applies to young, standard-brand white people. A white person who is Muslim or any non-white person would just be a terrorist.
