The University of Wyoming’s latest marketing slogan (which UD has cited and … extended a bit … in her headline) is generating controversy.
NOT because cowboys (plus all them guns, natch) have given Wyoming jest ’bout the country’s highest suicide rate, but because the slogan’s offensive.

Well, hey! We are the Cowboys here at Hardin-Simmons. No complaints that I know of so far.
To my surprise, Texas is below the national average on its suicide rate.
I’m offended that they spent $500,000 on the slogan.

JND: Yes – no slur intended against cowboys as such. Just “cowboy” cynically used in an expensive slogan.
