“I was in a rental house in Garrett Park, Maryland, and I wrote this song …”

Nils Lofgren reminisces. Wee UD lived, for a time, next door to that house and to Lofgren. He and UD‘s older sister went to high school together.

UD‘s friends the Josephs now live in the house. They expanded and modernized it like crazy. Lofgren would find it totally unrecognizable.

That is sooooo cool. Living far far far away from Baltimore, I became a big Nils fan upon the release of Nils in 1979.

Did you know the guys in Crack the Sky too? Animal Notes wowed me as an 11 year old.

Hi Jack! Nope – the name Crack in the Sky is unknown to me…

What fun. Just stumbling over you. I was in the same class at WJ. Now I’m curious about your Mom.

I found you when I searched for Leaf’s home in GP.

    Cheers.

Richard: I know of your literary renown! Wonderful to have you show up on my blog. My mother, Mitzi Rapp, was a classicist who worked on ancient Pompeian gardens with Wilhemina Jashemski; she also raised and showed and hunted birds with generations of spaniels. Margaret
