Snapshots from Home

Two images from this morning’s walk through Garrett Park.

Peonies, in a little public green planted and maintained by Garrett Parkers, about to bloom.
One of my favorite GP houses: stylish weathered fence; teeming with woodland plants. See how the house blends into its setting rather than destroying the setting and being a vile mcmansion.

    Lovely!

I’m not seeing the little ants that crawl all over unopened peonies.

tp: Right- I noticed that absence too. Aren’t they also supposed to have sticky stuff on them (attracting ants, I guess)? Didn’t see any of that either. I guess it’s true what they say. Garrett Park is a utopia.

Utopia, or insect apocalypse. Or both.

    Anon: LOL.

Well, this may very well be the first sign of complete collapse of terrestrial ecosystems. So even though it’s nice not to have ants and mosquitos around, it’s not so lol-worthy.

    Anon: Yikes.

Anon, I promise you that I can re-stock the entire world supply of ants from the ones in my yard. Actually, the ones who have begun their annual invasion of our house would probably suffice. It’s Terro Time in the flyover, but we won’t make a dent in them.
