My Victor E. Garden is patrolled by fox, coyotes, and two kinds of owls. Generally free of bunnies the past few years. I still have to string netting to deter deer and geese.
Stephen: We’ve got loads of bunnies, and the owls, hawks, and eagles couldn’t be happier about it. I suspect there are coyotes out there, though I’ve never seen one. Deer of course have established extensive communities throughout our half acre.
Geese? Do you have a pond? Or is there water nearby? Rock Creek isn’t too far from us, but I don’t think it’s close enough to bring geese to our place. I see our big orange foxes a lot lately.
There’s a decorative pond out back that features in Cold Spring Shops from time to time. Even ice fishing from time to time. Catch and release I hope. Lots of geese. On occasion there are bear sightings in Illinois, but mostly the bears you see are on sweatshirts, in support of a team that sucks.
Too thickly settled around here to use a 30.06 to deal with the deer.

I do wonder when we’ll start seeing bears.
