‘The Zizians …. apparently believe that because there are two hemispheres in the brain, individuals can split their consciousness between two personalities by waking one side at a time…’

Background on the lunacy behind the killing at the border. Think Charlie Manson and his gang.

UD, did you know the Zodiac Killer came outta Vallejo, CA??

Your reference to Charlie Manson is revelatory. Charlie was connected to the San Francisco based Church of Satan, run by Anton LeVey and Col. Michael Aquino. Anton worked for SFPD in their crime lab. Aquino was an Army colonel involved in intelligence operations. San Francisco became a hub of tricked out, bogus New Age grifters, including The Process Church, and Jim Jones’ People’s Temple, though that was in Oakland.

From this moras emerged Charlie Manson, The Zodiac, and a counter culture predicated on violence and drugs. Having grown up in San Francisco, and having neighbors that witnessed the transformation of The City, one odd element became evident. No matter how kooky those movements were, they all had more than sufficient resources. They owned property all throughout the Bay Area, had well crafted marketing campaigns, and had international connections. Something about the story you posted, especially the age of assailants, their apparent wealth, and adherence to chakra hakra bullshit, created overtones of what took place in CA in the 60s and 70s..,

charlie: Though you’re far better informed than I, something of what you describe must have occurred to me as I looked at this latest vile crew.

And your remark about owning property reminds me that when they were interviewed by the FBI this couple said they were in Vermont to buy property, which sounded bogus to me at first. But it’s probably true: Some aspects of Vermont are likely to appeal to these subcultures. Unfortunately for Vermont.
