I went to the protest closest to my town. I parked and walked up to the square. I could only see less than a dozen sign holders and felt discouraged. Then I turned the corner and saw hundreds and hundreds lined up on both sides of the street.
Matt: Similar to my story! The big demonstration was farther down Strathmore, toward the busy Rockville Pike, and a lot more people were there because there are so many more houses than in dinky Garrett Park. But as the morning went on, our first rather thin lines on either side of Strathmore gathered more and more people, more and more noise, more and more enthusiastic passing cars, and the whole thing really took off.
One very Garrett Park aspect, though: A lot of us failed to join in on the organizers’ chants. They kept trying, but with a few exceptions (we DID all join in to This Land is Your Land…), Garrett Parkers’ notorious unwillingness to be LED, by ANYONE (No Kings!) once again reared its head.

I felt damn good.
