UD’s been vomiting at the phenom of doctors doing double mastectomies on sixteen year olds ever since she got wind of the grotesquerie.

She hasn’t written about it because she hasn’t been able to control her emotions.

It is now coming to an end.

How did it ever start?

  1. Stephen Karlson Says:

Did it start when the civil rights True Believers took the win in Obergefell as reason to find a new oppressed population to champion?

Did it get stronger when that arrest went wrong in Minneapolis and the True Believers saw the opportunity to Question Everything?

Did the resulting correlation of forces induce liberal-minded people who might have had reservations about the excesses of the alphabet people to hold their counsel for fear of being lumped with the reactionary yahoos?

Might those yahoos have won over some people at least some of the time?

  2. Margaret Soltan Says:

Something deeper, I think. The triumph of the therapeutic, as P. Rieff put it…

  3. TAFKAU Says:

The “alphabet people”? Wow, hard to imagine why decent liberals would fear being lumped in with reactionary yahoos who use dehumanizing labels like that. Especially if those yahoos also insist on referring to the George Floyd killing as an “arrest that went wrong.”
