The Harvard Crimson reports the disgraced scientist Marc Hauser (scroll down for all Hauser posts) will teach there next year. The Boston Globe reports that he will not.
The same sort of ineptitude characterized the question of his teaching assignments for last year. He would; he wouldn’t…
Harvard. A thirty billion dollar enterprise that sometimes seems unable to find its own ass with both hands and an ass map.

Might the ineptitude here simply be that of the college newspaper, basing its story on the comment of an assistant?

Ani: To be sure. The question is why they had to resort to that person. Why couldn’t they get a straight answer out of the dept chair?
The ineptitude I’m talking about goes way back with this case. Harvard has been slow to investigate, slow to announce the results of the investigation, and, now, inept in the simple matter of answering a question about whether this man will be teaching there.

Would it be the job of the provost at Harvard to speak to the issues in the Hauser case? Where is Steven Hyman?
