Don is the kid who was never told “No,” seemingly by anybody. If he can get away with fondling one woman, why not a whole lot more? That apparently is his business model. If I can get away with one grift, why not several more? Before he created the Trump University loan mill scheme, there was Trump Institute.

Don got paid by two scam artists to market his name for expensive real estate seminars that used plagiarized material. Why has no one asked why in hell is a putative billionaire having anything to do with a couple of short fingered guys? Is Trump nothing but a grifter himself, and what does it say of a political system that allows this clown show to exist?

One thought I had about the last debate, which I’ll slip in here, though it is off the specific topic, is the cleverness of HRC’s decision, for which I think she prepared,* to praise Trump’s kids. Strictly speaking it was off topic, since he in no sense could take parenting credit for any good qualities of theirs that one might find with an electron microscope. Either Seth Myers — who has been surprisingly wonderful on Trump –or Colbert — unsurprisingly wonderful — described it as: Q. “What are his best qualities?” A. “Five other people.”

But I think it was really a reminder to the “kids” to think about how much respectability they remotely have left to preserve and how they might do it by backing off support a little or a lot.

*By this I mean I’m sure she had answers to almost every question that her staff could think of, including that one, which is not uncommon.

Greg: Very much agreed. It was a good answer; but to be fair Trump’s was too – that Clinton’s a fighter. And yes – obviously his kid by wife #2 was totally raised by the wife; Ivana has said that she raised the kids practically alone (though I’m guessing that she had tons of hired help). Ain’t none of my business, but I’ve never seen the slightest emotion exchanged between Trump and #3 – I’m guessing there’s essentially no relationship there at all – and I’m also assuming that the kid by #3 is being raised by #3 and hired help. But I’m being madly speculative and probably unfair.

Perhaps I’m not looking dispassionately, and I am genuinely curious: have you ever sensed real warmth from DT toward anyone, kids included. I’m completely open to a “yes” or simply “can’t tell?”

Greg: Again with the understanding that it’s never really fair to do this, since people have all sorts of ways of expressing themselves, I have never sensed warmth from DT toward anyone, no. Along these lines — among all the sexual assault stories out there now about him, I find the one about his sitting next to a woman he’d never met and working his finger into her vagina the most … Trumpian. The woman says:

It wasn’t a sexual come-on. I don’t know why he did it. It was like just to prove that he could do it, and nothing would happen. There was zero conversation. We didn’t even really look at each other. It was very random, very nonchalant on his part.

To me this rings so true.

Keep in mind, DT is friends with Jeffrey Epstein. Just sayin….
