An Unusual Outcome

In the wake of plagiarism allegations, the president of Hobart William Smith Colleges has resigned. This rapid outcome (allegations against him were made only a few days ago) suggests the charges were probably true, the plagiarism significant, and the fight to retain the position not worth it.

    dmf: This sort of thing SO stands to reason as our most powerful leaders are open, uh, scoff-laws — increasingly, the way to personal advancement will be through using your position to quash lawsuits against them.

    It’s all so … Russian. Or Italian.

    Certainly what drove this process was the OUTSIDE committee chosen by the board.
