    “Allowing affray to occur.” Sounds like a horrible place but I love this phrase.

    Anon: Affray is a great word, but way out of use.

    This particular phrase is metrically lovely, featuring alliteration plus twin letters in almost every word. Nabokov might have put it in the mouth of Lolita’s Quilty.
